Kalki 2898 AD: Trailer Breakdown
The trailer for this movie starts in a city called Kashi Vishwanath, which is the first and last city on the planet. Because the whole world is suffering from a water crisis and the planet’s resources are depleted, people are struggling to survive in a world with no water or food.
Then in the next scene, we see a boy talking about a place known as a complex, and he says, Look at the complex; it’s huge, and the complex has water. What is a complex?? A complex is basically a giant up-and-down pyramid like a structure where upper-class people live, so why does it have water? The assumptions are that the complex is alive and sucking all the resources of the earth, or it could be that people in the complex are somehow making water with high technology.
Now the next scene actually starts inside the complex. We see a laser beam, and around there are waterfalls and a giant statue-like structure. The laser may be terraforming the earth and sucking its resources, but these are just theories. We’ll know the actual reason why Earth became like this in the movie.
Then in the next scene, we see the complex more closely from the outside, and it looks like the complex was not constructed but actually arrived from space. The reason why I’m assuming this is that we see a giant pit-like thing around that complex, which I guess was made when the complex arrived and landed there.
In the next scene, we see that a giant statue-like structure near the laser beam is lifting some people, and I’m assuming that the giant statue-like structure is alive. It could be that the statue is not a statue but a giant alien captured by the antagonist of this movie, Villian, who lives in a complex and is the leader of the complex. It could be that they captured this alien when they invaded a planet to suck their resources, or it could also be that the statue is actually a giant robot or a creature that was made in a complex.
Then in the next scene, we have a guy giving a speech, and if we look carefully in this scene, we can see a saber tooth, I’m assuming that the saber tooth was created in a complex just like that giant living statue.
Now let’s come to the speech of that guy who was basically saying that there is only one God, and that is the supreme Yaskin; he is also the villain of this movie. Who is basically forcing people to treat him like God and forcing them to pray to him?
Then in the next scene, we see the Aswadhama character played by Amitabh Bachchan, and we see the same boy who was talking about the complex, asking Aswadhama if, with this much power, he can help everyone, but he replies that he only wants to help one person and he has a mission.
Then in the next scene, we see a bow and some scrolls, which were last seen six thousand years ago, and if we correlate to the year 2898, then it roughly falls between the time period when Lord Rama was born and the year when the Ramayana took place, and I’m assuming that the bow is Lord Rama’s bow.
Then in the next scenes, we see some hope for the world of Kalki because we see a plant growing, and it’s hopeful because we know that only the complex has water and there is no water in the rest of the world. Then we see someone writing “मा,” which means mother.
Then we see the Deepika Padukone character, who is pregnant, and Aswadhama’s mission is to protect her because her son is going to be the prophecized final avatar of Lord Vishu Kalki.
Then in the next scene, we see the flashback of Aswadhama when the war of the Mahabharata was going on, then come to the present, we see the mighty Aswadhama super strength, then we see the character of Prabhas Bhairwa, who was sleeping, and Bujji wakes him up, which was pretty funny, and Bhairwa’s motive is to go to the complex and live a good life, but to live in a complex, you need one million units.
But then Bhairwa finds a one million-unit bounty, which was put on the Deepika Padukone character by the antagonist of this movie, Yaskin. It’s pretty clear why the bounty was put on; it’s because she’s pregnant and her son is going to be the final avatar of Lord Vishnu Kalki.
Then we get more info on the Deepika Padukone character in Bounty, where it is stated that she was infertile and now she’s suddenly five months pregnant, and the complex needs her for something secret; it could be to end her before she gives birth to Kalki. The name of the Deepika Padukone character is pretty interesting; her name in Bounty Box was Sum 80, which sounds like Sumati, and in the Hindu prophecy, it is said that the mother of Kalki’s avatar will be Sumati.
Then we see the epic fight between Bhairwa and Aswadhama. We see Aswadhama’s super strength and his monstrous stomp; we can also see the significant difference between Bhairwa and Aswadhama. Aswadhama is massive compared to Bhairwa, and we see Bhairwa getting beaten up, which was very obvious since Aswadhama is an ancient warrior with superpowers.
Then we see the hidden city of Sambala, where we can clearly see they haven’t forgotten about their culture, they still have faith in God, and they are fighting against Yaskin forces. We can also see that they are also technologically advanced,, and they have nanotech weapons. Also, we can see that the city of Sambala is hidden between mountains. We see Yaskin forces trying to destroy those mountains, but the mountains are protected because of force fields.
Then we finally see the main villain of the movie, Yaskin, played by Kamal Hassan, and the villain looks pretty terrifying, and we can see a glowing scar on his forehead, which could be the source of his power. The trailer ends with Yaskin saying the new era is coming.
Conclusion
The trailer of this movie was pretty epic and set the expectations of people very high. This movie could also change the Indian film industry completely, and if this movie becomes successful among fans, we can expect more movies like this one, but till then, bye-bye, and we’ll see you in the next one.
